1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Karmik, including our website, web app, ATS tools, resume tools, cover letter tools, AI tools, desktop app, automation features, subscription services, support channels, and related services.
By accessing or using Karmik, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, you must not use Karmik.
2. Who we are
Karmik is a software platform that helps users prepare job applications, resumes, cover letters, ATS-friendly documents, job application answers, and related career documents. Some Karmik features may also assist users with job search workflows and job application automation.
Karmik is not a recruiter, employer, migration agent, legal adviser, financial adviser, or government agency.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use Karmik.
If you use Karmik on behalf of a company, organisation, or another person, you confirm that you have authority to do so.
You must provide accurate information when creating an account, purchasing a subscription, contacting support, or using the service.
4. What Karmik does
Karmik may provide features such as:
- Resume creation
- Resume improvement
- Resume formatting
- ATS scoring
- ATS feedback
- Cover letter generation
- Job description analysis
- Application answer generation
- Job search workflow support
- Saved job management
- Application tracking
- Desktop automation
- Browser-based automation assistance
- Subscription-based usage limits
- Document download tools
- Career document templates
Features may change, improve, be limited, or be removed over time.
5. What Karmik does not guarantee
Karmik does not guarantee that:
- You will get a job
- You will get an interview
- You will receive recruiter responses
- Your resume will pass every ATS system
- Your cover letter will be accepted by every employer
- Your application will be successful
- Any job posting is genuine, available, or suitable
- Any generated content is error-free
- Any automation will work on every website
- Any job board will allow automation
- Any application will be submitted successfully
- The service will be uninterrupted or error-free
Karmik is a tool. Your results depend on your background, job market conditions, application quality, role fit, employer preferences, timing, competition, and other factors outside our control.
6. AI-generated content
Karmik uses AI to generate and assist with resumes, cover letters, ATS feedback, application answers, and other content.
AI-generated content may be:
- Inaccurate
- Incomplete
- Repetitive
- Too generic
- Unsuitable for a specific role
- Misleading if not reviewed
- Based on incomplete user input
- Affected by AI limitations
You are responsible for reviewing, editing, verifying, and approving all generated content before using it.
You must not submit AI-generated content that contains false, misleading, exaggerated, or fabricated information.
7. User responsibility for applications
You are solely responsible for:
- The accuracy of your resume
- The accuracy of your cover letter
- The accuracy of application answers
- The jobs you choose to apply for
- The documents you submit
- The statements you make to employers
- Reviewing applications before submission
- Complying with job board terms
- Complying with employer instructions
- Ensuring you have the right to work where required
- Ensuring your qualifications, experience, and claims are truthful
Karmik may help prepare or automate parts of an application, but you remain responsible for the final result.
8. Automation features
Karmik may offer desktop or automation tools that help users search jobs, generate documents, fill forms, or assist with job application workflows.
Automation may be limited by:
- Job board restrictions
- Employer website restrictions
- CAPTCHA or bot protection
- Website layout changes
- Login requirements
- Rate limits
- Technical errors
- Browser updates
- Operating system issues
- User-provided data quality
- Third-party outages
You agree that:
- You will review applications before final submission where possible
- You will not use automation to spam employers
- You will not use automation to submit false information
- You will not use automation to bypass security controls unlawfully
- You will not use automation in a way that breaches third-party rights
- You are responsible for checking whether your use complies with relevant job board terms
Karmik may stop, pause, limit, or modify automation features at any time to protect users, comply with law, reduce abuse, or maintain the service.
9. Human review requirement
You should manually review every resume, cover letter, application answer, profile field, job selection, and submission before relying on it.
For automation features, you should use human-in-the-loop review wherever available.
Karmik is not responsible for consequences caused by you submitting unreviewed, inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable content.
10. Account registration
To use some features, you may need an account.
You agree to:
- Provide accurate account information
- Keep your login credentials secure
- Not share your account with unauthorised users
- Notify us if you suspect unauthorised access
- Not create fake accounts
- Not abuse free trials, credits, quotas, referrals, or promotions
You are responsible for all activity under your account.
11. Subscriptions, plans, and usage limits
Karmik may offer free and paid plans.
Plans may include usage limits such as:
- Number of cover letters
- Number of resumes
- Number of ATS scores
- Number of downloads
- Number of automation actions
- Access to desktop app features
- Access to premium tools
Plan features, limits, pricing, and availability may change over time.
If you purchase a subscription, you authorise our payment provider to charge you according to the selected plan.
12. Billing
Payments are processed by Stripe or another third-party payment provider.
You agree to provide accurate billing information and keep your payment method up to date.
If payment fails, we may suspend, downgrade, or cancel access to paid features.
Prices may be shown in Australian dollars or another currency depending on your location and checkout settings.
13. Cancellations
You may cancel your subscription through the available account, billing, or support process.
Cancellation usually stops future billing. It does not automatically refund past payments unless required by law or expressly stated.
After cancellation, you may retain access to paid features until the end of the current billing period, unless otherwise stated.
14. Refunds
Refunds are handled in accordance with Australian Consumer Law and any rights you may have under applicable law.
We are not required to provide a refund simply because:
- You changed your mind
- You forgot to cancel
- You did not use the service
- You no longer need the service
- You expected a job outcome that was not achieved
- You purchased the wrong plan
- You did not review the product before purchasing
However, nothing in these Terms limits, excludes, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy that cannot legally be excluded.
If you believe you are entitled to a refund, contact help@karmik.ai.
15. Free trials, free credits, and promotions
Karmik may offer free credits, trials, discounts, coupons, or promotional access.
We may modify, withdraw, limit, or cancel promotions at any time.
Promotions may be subject to additional terms.
You must not create multiple accounts or use misleading information to abuse free credits, trials, or discounts.
16. Acceptable use
You must not use Karmik to:
- Break the law
- Mislead employers
- Submit false job applications
- Fabricate qualifications or experience
- Impersonate another person
- Upload malware
- Attack, scrape, overload, or disrupt our systems
- Reverse engineer the service
- Circumvent payment systems
- Bypass access controls
- Abuse AI generation limits
- Harass, spam, or deceive employers or recruiters
- Violate job board terms
- Violate another person’s privacy
- Upload confidential information you are not authorised to use
- Generate discriminatory, hateful, abusive, unlawful, or harmful content
- Resell Karmik access without permission
- Build a competing service by copying Karmik’s design, workflows, prompts, code, outputs, or systems
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.
17. User content
You retain ownership of the content you upload to Karmik, such as resumes, job descriptions, cover letter instructions, and application information.
You grant Karmik a limited licence to use, process, store, reproduce, modify, format, transmit, and display your content as necessary to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the service.
This licence allows us to:
- Generate resumes and cover letters
- Analyse job descriptions
- Create ATS feedback
- Store your documents
- Display your account content
- Provide support
- Debug technical issues
- Operate automation features
- Maintain security and abuse prevention
You confirm that you have the right to upload and use the content you provide.
18. Karmik intellectual property
Karmik owns or licenses all rights in the platform, including:
- Website design
- App design
- Software
- Workflows
- Prompts
- Templates
- Branding
- Logos
- Product names
- UI components
- Automation systems
- Documentation
- Proprietary processes
- Generated system structures
- Non-user content
You must not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, resell, or create derivative works from Karmik without written permission.
19. Generated outputs
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and any third-party provider terms, you may use the resumes, cover letters, and other documents generated for you for your personal job search.
However:
- You are responsible for verifying generated outputs
- We do not guarantee originality, uniqueness, accuracy, or suitability
- Similar outputs may be generated for other users
- You must not claim false experience, qualifications, or achievements
- You must not use outputs in a misleading or unlawful way
20. Third-party services and websites
Karmik integrates with or relies on third-party services, including hosting, authentication, database, storage, AI, payment, analytics, email, and security providers.
Karmik may also interact with job boards, employer websites, and external links.
We do not control third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for:
- Third-party outages
- Third-party data practices
- Third-party fees
- Job board restrictions
- Employer website changes
- Payment provider decisions
- AI provider errors
- External website content
- External account suspensions
- Third-party terms or policies
You are responsible for complying with any third-party terms that apply to your use.
21. Desktop app
If you use Karmik Desktop, you understand that:
- It may run local automation processes on your device
- It may interact with browsers or local files
- It may require updates
- It may depend on your operating system, permissions, browser, and internet connection
- It may not work on all devices
- It may generate local logs or files
- It may require you to sign in
- It may stop working if job boards or websites change
You are responsible for installing updates, maintaining your device security, and reviewing any actions taken through the desktop app.
22. Security
You must not:
- Attempt to access other users’ accounts
- Test security without permission
- Scan, attack, overload, or exploit Karmik systems
- Use stolen credentials
- Share malicious files
- Bypass authentication, subscription, rate limits, or usage restrictions
- Interfere with security tools
We may suspend access if we detect suspicious or harmful activity.
23. Service availability
We aim to keep Karmik available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
The service may be unavailable due to:
- Maintenance
- Updates
- Bugs
- Provider outages
- Network issues
- Security incidents
- High demand
- Third-party failures
- Force majeure events
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time.
24. Beta and experimental features
Some Karmik features may be experimental, beta, or early access.
These features may be unstable, incomplete, inaccurate, or discontinued.
You use beta features at your own risk.
25. Support
We may provide support through email, chat, social media, or other channels.
Support availability is not guaranteed unless expressly included in a paid plan.
We may prioritise support based on plan type, severity, or business needs.
26. Privacy
Your use of Karmik is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
By using Karmik, you agree that we may collect, use, store, and disclose personal information as described in the Privacy Policy.
27. Suspension and termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account if:
- You breach these Terms
- You misuse the service
- You fail to pay
- You abuse promotions or free credits
- You create legal risk for us
- Your use creates security risk
- Your use harms other users or third parties
- We are required to do so by law
- We discontinue the service
You may stop using Karmik at any time.
Termination does not affect rights or obligations that should reasonably survive termination, including payment obligations, intellectual property rights, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute terms.
28. Disclaimer
Karmik is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties, representations, or guarantees that the service will be:
- Error-free
- Uninterrupted
- Accurate
- Complete
- Secure
- Suitable for your specific purpose
- Compatible with every job board
- Successful in obtaining employment outcomes
Nothing in these Terms excludes any rights that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
29. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Karmik is not liable for:
- Lost job opportunities
- Rejected applications
- Missed interviews
- Loss of income
- Loss of profits
- Loss of business
- Loss of data
- Loss of reputation
- Employer decisions
- Recruiter decisions
- Job board restrictions
- User mistakes
- Unreviewed AI content
- Incorrect application answers
- Third-party service failures
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss
Where liability cannot be excluded, our liability is limited, where permitted by law, to one or more of the following:
- Supplying the service again
- Paying the cost of having the service supplied again
- Refunding the amount paid for the affected service
30. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Karmik against claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising from:
- Your breach of these Terms
- Your misuse of the service
- Your unlawful conduct
- Your uploaded content
- Your job applications
- Your breach of third-party terms
- Your false or misleading information
- Your infringement of another person’s rights
This applies to the extent permitted by law.
31. Consumer law
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, remedy, or protection that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.
If there is a conflict between these Terms and a non-excludable legal right, the legal right prevails.
32. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
If changes are material, we may notify users by email, in-app notice, website notice, or another reasonable method.
Your continued use of Karmik after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
If you do not agree, you must stop using Karmik.
33. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
You agree to submit to the courts of Victoria, Australia, subject to any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.
34. Disputes
Before starting legal proceedings, you agree to contact us first and try to resolve the issue in good faith.
